Mobile video surveillance at open-air cinema in Munich

It is probably Bavaria’s largest open-air cinema and right in the middle of Munich: the “Kino am Königsplatz” event once again attracted numerous visitors to the special historical ambience near the Glyptothek from July 23 to August 1. In addition to a varied selection of films, there was also an extensive culinary offering and supporting program. To protect the grounds and valuable equipment and technology from theft and vandalism, Video Guard, an efficient, mobile video surveillance system, was used. This provided security, particularly outside of event times.

Outdoor movie nights against a historical backdrop: This is what the open-air cinema in Munich had to offer. In the immediate vicinity of the Glyptothek, the Collection of Classical Antiquities and the Propylaea, visitors also enjoyed open mic evenings, live music, a food truck and a beer garden. Video Guard Professional was installed in the area to ensure that the screen, speakers and other equipment were protected throughout the event. The intelligent video analytics of the security solution enables reliable motion detection and notifies the manned control center of unauthorized access with secure image transmission. In addition, an active loudspeaker with 120 decibels of sound pressure ensures a targeted approach – this can also be used to direct streams of visitors. Even in the event of a power failure, a rechargeable battery ensures the necessary emergency power supply for the camera tower. The use of mobile video surveillance has also successfully prevented theft and vandalism this year.
