Video Guard relies on AI in the construction industry and uses self-learning network algorithms for greater safety and efficiency
Theft and vandalism on construction sites are a persistent problem in the construction industry. The loss of materials, tools and machinery leads to considerable financial losses and can significantly delay construction progress. The camera-based “Video Guard” system offers an innovative solution to increase security. Using artificial intelligence (AI), it analyzes the footage and reliably distinguishes between harmless and potentially dangerous activities.
Video Guard uses self-learning network algorithms to analyze movements on construction sites. This technology makes it possible to distinguish between normal activities, such as a flapping tarpaulin, and real threats. Thanks to AI in the construction industry and machine learning, the system is continuously improving, reducing false alarms and shortening incident response times.
Jörn Windler, Managing Director of International Security GmbH and President of Smart Surveillance, explains: “With a second layer of Cloud AI video analytics in addition to camera analytics, we reduce false alarms to such an extent that working in the control room becomes as convenient as possible. The resulting rapid intervention by Video Guard significantly increases the chance of apprehending intruders on site.”
AI-supported automation of monitoring processes makes it possible to focus on the essentials. Traditional products often generate so many false alarms that working in the control center overwhelms employees, especially in bad weather, while well-trained AI systems work around the clock without fatigue. They analyze large amounts of video data in real time and immediately identify potential threats. In this way, they make a significant contribution to greater safety on construction sites.
