Video Guard: Video surveillance in action at the 75th Oldenburg State Tournament
The Oldenburg State Tournament has been attracting many visitors every year since 1949. This year, the event celebrated its 75th anniversary. From July 23 to 28, the program at the showground in Rastede not only included a large number of dressage and show jumping competitions, but also an accompanying exhibition and a wide range of gastronomic offerings. Four Video Guard towers have been installed for video surveillance to ensure that the site is secure, especially outside event times. For example, the security system focused on the tournament and exhibition area and protected valuable sponsor vehicles from theft and vandalism.
This year’s 75th Oldenburg State Show once again brought together top-class riding and driving championships, ambitious club sport as well as show and entertainment. The high-caliber event attracted many horse enthusiasts and well-known representatives from society and politics to Rastede. The event was opened by Lower Saxony’s Minister of the Interior, Daniela Behrens. Participants competed against each other in several tests and competitions such as show jumping, dressage and many breeding shows. The six-day event also offered catering and exhibitor areas.
Video surveillance for the
site Video Guard was used for video surveillance to ensure that the high-quality merchandise, catering tents and sponsorship vehicles on the site were protected until the next day, even after the event had ended. The camera towers immediately detect unauthorized persons and send an alarm to the manned control centre. They then use a 120 decibel active loudspeaker to ask the intruders to leave the premises. If the request is not complied with, the security staff will take appropriate measures and inform the police. Video surveillance with Video Guard in Rastede once again ensured that incidents such as theft and vandalism were effectively prevented this year.
