The video towers from Video Guard are used in Heiden
It is a voluntary measure by the organizers to raise security to a higher level: The Heiden Schützenfest from August 10 to 12, 2024 was also monitored by Video Guard’s mobile video towers for the first time this year. The high-performance infrared cameras attached to the camera towers enable 180-degree surveillance of areas that are difficult to see. These areas are also illuminated by halogen lamps individually installed on the towers for this project – as a deterrent for potential criminals.
When the people of Heiden celebrated their shooting festival again on the second weekend in August, the entire town was in a festive mood. It was time to line up, march off, have a morning pint, a ball – and much more. These were exuberant days that everyone involved understandably wanted to celebrate with joy and without any safety concerns. As there was a knife attack on a 30-year-old from Heiden during last year’s festival, the General Citizens’ and Shooting Association St. Georgius Heiden e.V., as the organizer, has further tightened the security measures around the shooting festival this year.
Flexible 180-degree video surveillance with video towers
In addition to security personnel, police officers and the public order office, mobile video surveillance was also used on site for the first time – sponsored by Blömen VuS. The mobile video towers from Video Guard were positioned around the marquee at locations previously defined with the organizer – and can be easily repositioned at any time if required by the conditions on site. With their 180-degree viewing angle, the high-performance infrared cameras attached to the towers ensure reliable surveillance around the clock.
Data protection-compliant video towers
The recordings are only retrieved on request and deleted after seven days. If suspicious movements occur in the monitored area, the people are addressed directly, loudly and clearly, by the control center connected to the tower. Blömen VuS also installed halogen lights on the video towers specifically for the Heiden project. These ensure that dark, poorly visible areas are well illuminated. The motto: light is a deterrent and provides security. So a successful
