Video Guard secures renovation project in Bonn
The former Agfa building in Bonn was once a place of photography and slide film development. For more than 30 years, the building on Justus-von Liebig-Strasse has had changing tenants; now it is being given a new purpose. The construction company Ten Brinke has started to renovate the building to make it more energy-efficient. It will be part of a modern office campus in which the Ten Brinke branch in Bonn will also move in. Until completion, two camera towers will protect the construction site from unauthorized access. Video Guard effectively prevents vandalism and theft.
Until the early 1990s, it was the address for amateur photographers in the west of Bonn. However, too few orders led to the closure of the Agfa building in the Dransdorf district. New tenants moved in and out of the building, which was getting on in years. This is now a thing of the past: the building is being extensively renovated by the Ten Brinke Group and is to become part of a sustainable and energy-efficient office campus. The construction company is aiming to use advanced plant technology, achieve DGNB certification and implement the KfW40 energy standard. Photovoltaic elements on the roof areas will supply the office space with electricity. Façade greening and the new wooden façade contribute to the high quality of the building. For several weeks now, the old Agfa building has been undergoing energy-efficient refurbishment. Among other things, the building envelope will be renewed. Ten Brinke relies on intelligent video surveillance to protect the material used for this purpose from theft and prevent vandalism. The choice fell on two Video Guard Professional camera towers due to good experience. These secure the entire site during the construction phase. The towers use high-resolution cameras and intelligent video analytics to detect unauthorized intruders. The integrated infrared light guarantees a clear view – even at night. When setting up the system, the area to be monitored is precisely defined. This ensures that the personal rights of residents and passers-by are reliably protected despite the widespread surveillance. This is because adjacent paths and roads are hidden by the software. Construction work on the Agfa building should be completed this year so that the first tenants and the Bonn branch of Ten Brinke can move into the premises.
