Video Guard: Intelligent camera technology with all-round service

During the course of a construction project, not only do the materials and machines used change, but the construction site itself is also in a state of flux. This presents construction companies with challenges when it comes to guarding and protecting valuable goods on the site. This is because they have to be adapted to the respective requirements on the construction site over time – cameras may have to be realigned or repositioned in the process. To ensure that the area to be detected is secured at all times, Video Guard not only relies on intelligent technology, but also offers a comprehensive service, a staffed control center and rapid availability of the camera towers.

A construction project goes through various phases that ultimately lead to completion and acceptance. During the process, the construction site changes: machines and building materials are moved and the project progresses. However, protection against theft and vandalism must be provided at all times. Against this background, the monitoring system should be regularly reviewed and possibly realigned. This also applies to mobile surveillance towers. Video Guard’s service package therefore not only includes the camera tower itself, but also a comprehensive range of services and the repositioning of the camera towers as required. Fast and uncomplicated communication with the connected alarm center also facilitates changes to the guarding times.

Guarded from the start
An analysis of the construction site to be detected and the individual risk forms the basis for determining the number and orientation of the camera towers. Various systems are available: from the small version for guarding individual entrances or construction containers to self-sufficient towers that can be used in remote areas without a power supply thanks to solar energy, fuel cells and backup batteries. The integrated software works with self-learning video analysis, which makes it possible to evaluate the captured camera images very precisely and quickly. The connected, staffed alarm center can thus react immediately if unauthorized persons enter the premises. The risk of false alarms is minimized. The towers themselves are quite compact – so they can easily be positioned in such a way that they do not interfere with the construction process and logistics. The Video Guard team is responsible for setting up. The system is ready for operation in a short space of time and secures machines and materials within defined time windows. This is usually the case outside working hours. Vacant buildings are generally guarded around the clock until renovation or demolition work begins. If the relevant times change, an adjustment is possible at any time. It is also possible to suspend surveillance for short periods of time during construction site visits or similar events in consultation with the 24-hour control center.

With a focus on the construction process
If the construction site changes, it may be necessary to reposition the camera towers. The realignment is quick and uncomplicated. The experienced Video Guard team moves the towers in a short space of time without disrupting the construction process. In the course of a construction project, additional camera towers may also be required to completely cover an area. For example, in the first phase of a new building, there is often an unobstructed view of the construction site due to a small number of towers. Once the first floors have been completed, this is often no longer the case. If an additional camera tower is required, the compact monitoring system can usually be delivered to the construction site and set up on the same day.

Video Guard in Bremen's Überseestadt district
Camera towers with intelligent video analytics are used to protect against theft and vandalism on construction sites. To ensure that the area to be detected is secured throughout, Video Guard not only relies on technology, but also keeps an eye on the realignment of the construction process.
